History. In the 1980s, Pierre-François Resta studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris and specialized as a marimbist at the Rotterdam Conservatory. A teacher at the Conservatoire de Dijon, a talented musician, he could not find any wand corresponding to his expectations. He then decided to conduct research to make his own chopsticks. In 1989, he created the company Resta Percussions, which was taken over in 2009 by Emmanuel Jay. He set up the manufacturing workshop in Verzé, in the south of Burgundy, in the heart of the Maçonnais vineyard. This is where each stick is refined according to the musician's needs (weight, length and handle flexibility). Each important step of the manufacturing process is done by hand and regularly checked.
The products. Rods of xylophone and glokenspiel, drums, vibraphone, timpani, marimba... In all, 350 models are manufactured and distributed in more than 120 countries.
Employment. The company has only two employees, a percussionist and a violin maker.
