This castle is located in the heart of the Morvan, on a rocky peak overlooking the Cure.

Located in the heart of the Morvan, on a rocky peak overlooking the Cure river, it was in the 11th century that the castle of Chastellux began to emerge from the ground (the Saint-Jean tower was built in 1080). Over the centuries, this fortress has been constantly enlarged and restored, but it is the same family that has been in charge of this sumptuous castle since its origins. The Count of Chastellux, who shows his residence with passion, knows the place by heart. The park, designed by Le Nôtre, is also worth a visit. And the village too.

Opening time and information on CHÂTEAU DE CHASTELLUX

Closed in winter until Easter Sunday. Low season: open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. High season: daily from 10am to 6pm. Free for children under 7. Adults: €11. Children (7-12 years): €7 (13-18 years €8). Adults (with ticket for Château de Bazoches and/or Fontaines Salées): €10. Free visit of the park. Credit cards not accepted. Guided tour of the château (with the owner or a family member; approx. one hour).

Nous n'avons pas visité l'intérieur du château mais le parc est top. Plusieurs parcours avec des questions/réponses tout du long. Très intéressant.

Très beau lieu, un château qui porte une histoire riche en personnages, une visite guidée particulièrement intéressante. À visiter (parc et chateau) pour rentrer dans la grande Histoire de France !

Visite très intéressante, une guide géniale qui explique bien l’histoire du château. Nous avons croisé le propriétaire très agréable aussi. Je vous recommande de venir visiter une après-midi sa vaut le coup !
