Small museum featuring an interesting collection of grape-growing tools, including a rare felling press
Open to groups (by appointment only), this small museum is sure to delight enthusiasts: located in the heart of the Coulanges-la-Vineuse winegrowing area, it features a collection of tools, as well as a rare medieval-style felling press. With a pressure of 1.2 tons per square meter, it produced 750 to 800 liters of juice from some 1,000 kg of grapes. Very slow to operate, its principle had been known since Antiquity and was used until 1924.
