The remarkable statue of Notre-Dame-de-Lumière in Domecy-sur-Cure, the work of Avallone sculptor Pierre Vigoureux.
From the top of the hill, the statue of Our Lady of Light dominates. 8.40 meters high, the sculpture weighs 10 tons. It is the work of the Avallonnais sculptor Pierre Vigoureux who responded to the order of Abbé Lacroix, priest of Cure, who wanted a protector of the professionals and users of electricity, industry and cinema. When it was consecrated in 1951, the territory still had 150 workers at the Bois-de-Cure hydroelectric plant. Next to the statue, the walker can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley.
