LA MAISON DE L'ARBRE DE JESSÉ
A remarkable half-timbered house, a historic monument with a facade depicting the genealogy of Christ.
At the corner of rue Cortel, this imposing 16th century half-timbered house is remarkable in every way. A historical monument, it has an astonishing facade: the wooden uprights reproduce the genealogy of Christ. One can see Jesse dreaming of a tree sprouting from his body, while on the branches appears the kinship of Christ and, at the top, the Virgin and Child. Rarely used on a civil building, this religious theme is only found on three houses in France.
