This building dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, is one of the most important Romanesque churches in the region
This church of the 11th and 12th century is one of the most important Romanesque churches. Its amazing two-storey octagonal bell tower gives it an original charm. The chancel kept remains of frescoes of the 12th century and the sculpted capitals in the nave show strange creatures, birds with human and elephant heads. The name of the church comes from a martyr beheaded by Roman legionaries in the 3rd century AD. Legend has it that a miraculous source sprung at the place where his head fell.
