L'ESCALE
It recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. L'Escale is an institution! It was originally the dance hall of the Hôtel de la Réunion, which was destroyed during the Second World War. Some of the greatest names in music-hall have performed here: Trénet, Aznavour, Sydney Bechet... It's also where Johnny Hallyday honored his first contract, and where Jacques Brel made his debut. The line-up is such that it is often referred to as the "Petit Olympia". Nowadays, newcomers and established artists follow one another in this venue dedicated to contemporary music. And jazz.
