CHÂTEAU DE MONTHELON
17th century castle overlooking the Serein valley, now a cultural and artistic site hosting the Monthelon Meetings.
On the outskirts of Montreal, facing the Serein valley, the Château de Monthelon has stood since the 17th century. Destroyed during the French Revolution as a farm, it became an orphanage at the end of the 2nd World War, then a vacation camp. Since 1989, it has been a place of residence for artists from all over the world. An "artistic workshop", according to the French Ministry of Culture. Every year at the end of July, it is also the setting for the Rencontres de Monthelon, which brings together dance, theater, circus, music and visual arts.
