LA MAISON DE LA TOISON D'OR
The house of the Golden Fleece located in Noyers, which belonged in 1430 to Régnier Pot, adviser and diplomat to the English
The county of Noyers, in the hands of Philip the Good, was a strategic location in the conflicts between the Burgundians, allies of the English, and the Armagnacs, loyal to Charles VI and then Charles VII. Ideally situated between Dijon and Paris, Noyers became an essential stopover. In 1430, the house of the Golden Fleece in Noyers belonged to Régnier Pot who had worked for Philip the Good as an advisor and diplomat with the English until his death in 1432. The estate entrusted the house of the Golden Fleece to his grandson, Philippe Pot, Knight of the Golden Fleece. The latter negotiated the marriage of the young Charles the Bold to the daughter of the King of England Edward IV, Margaret of York.
