LE VIEUX CHÂTEAU
Old castle perched on a rocky outcrop above Noyers
Former property of the lords of Miles, this vast fortified building was destroyed by Henri IV in 1599. Perched on a rocky spur above Noyers, its two towers and the curtain wall that connect them can be seen thanks to the association "le Patrimoine oublié" (Forgotten Heritage) which brings the site back to life. Each year, the Gargouillosium invites sculptors to create chimeras, mythical animals and fantastic creatures in stone. Then, a medieval universe takes shape and the last day, the works are sold to the visitors. Magnificent!
