ABBAYE DE LA PIERRE-QUI-VIRE
Benedictine monastery with a church in the middle of the Morvan forest, a high spiritual place, exhibition on the life of the monks proposed.
In the heart of the Morvan forest, this Benedictine monastery was founded in 1850. Its name comes from a balanced rock overhung by a statue of the Virgin Mary. Not all the buildings (dating from the late 19th century to the present day) can be visited, but the church is open and there's an exhibition on the life of the monks. In the store, you'll find the famous organic cow's milk cheese, Pierre-Qui-Vire, made here. It's a spiritual, timeless and rejuvenating place.
