A site with a reception and discovery center that exhibits the main features of human societies over time.

1.5 km south of Saint Père, the site of the Fontaines Salées owes its name to the resurgence of salt water springs that were captured 4,300 years ago (Final Neolithic) by means of oak casings that are still in place. The remains of a vast thermal bath dating from the 1st to the 3rd centuries of our era, still testify to the continuity of human occupation. The reception and archaeological discovery center, recently created on the site, exposes the main features of human societies spread over time, from the Neolithic to Antiquity.

Le musée est super et très bien détaillé. En revanche le site de fouille ne vaut vraiement pas grand chose. Il n'y pas de corrélation entre l'extractions de sel et les bains thermal de l'époque ou je ne l'ai pas compris. Reste intéressant et pas chère (5.50€ / personne avec la reduction des visites de château alentours)

Intrigerende plek met historie die ver teruggaat, Fijne sfeer. Niet enorm groot, maar prettig om rond te wandelen over de site en het museum te bekijken. Bijv icm bezoek aan Vezelay.

Site très intéressant et surprenant, clairement expliqué en amont dans le musée. De plus, nous avons eu la chance d'être accompagné sur le site par un jeune guide enthousiaste et plein de ressources. Un beau souvenir de nos vacances en Bourgogne.
