KNIGHT OF EON MUSEUM
Museum housing a collection of over 200 pieces ranging from the knight's swords to his petticoats
This building was built in 1661 by the father of Charles de Beaumont, known as Chevalier d'Eon (1728-1810). The life of this diplomat and spy of King Louis XV has crossed the centuries. Born in Tonnerre, the man disguised himself as a woman to penetrate the best kept secrets of the kingdom. The property was bought by his grandfather, Philippe Luyt, in order to make it a museum that brings together since 2016 the memories of the family. The guided tour is given by the owner of the place, who is passionate to the core. The collection of over 200 pieces ranges from the knight's swords to his petticoats.
