Museum of Modern Art, presenting a rich collection bequeathed by Zervos, installed in the house where Romain Rolland lived.
Installed in the house where the Nobel Prize winner for literature Romain Rolland (born in Clamecy) lived (from 1938 until his death in 1944), this museum of modern art comes from the Zervos bequest. In 1970, the Zervos couple bequeathed 800 works and documents to the commune, including the collection of "Cahiers d'art" which they published in Saint-Germain-des-Prés from 1926 to 1960. This includes works by Matisse, Picasso, Miro, Giacometti, Kandinsky and Calder mobiles. A place not to be missed in Vézelay!

La maison est superbe et les oeuvres sont bien mises en valeur et on peut vraiment les regarder plutôt que de les apercevoir !
