CHAPELLE DE SAINT-MAURICE-THIZOUAILLE
Sheepfold transformed into a chapel of Saint-Maurice-Thizouaille with murals of the famous painter Robert Falcucci.
This chapel holds many surprises. Built in the 13th century, demolished in 1903, its furniture was transferred to the neighbouring church of Saint-Maurice-le-Vieil. In 1912, a sheepfold was transformed so that it was reborn. Murals by the famous painter Robert Falcucci (1900-1989) can now be found there. The artist had his roots in the Yonne since he spent his youth there. His paintings represent the Way of the Cross, the Last Supper, the Nativity and the Baptism of Jesus.
