Clock tower in Voutenay-sur-Cure which had only one hand, replaced in 1987 by an electric model
The bell of the church, off-center, too small, was badly heard in the village leading the commune to change it for a more imposing piece and to accompany it with a second bell with a wooden dial and a bronze mechanism, of an amount of 1 000 pounds in 1826, placed at the common house so that it is rung in case of need. A beautiful clock tower was then built to accommodate it, adjoining the school.
The clock had only one hand indicating the hours while the bells rang every quarter of an hour without any way to locate it accurately. It was replaced in 1987 by an electric model.
