RELEC ABBEY
Cistercian abbey with a monumental fountain, beautiful gardens and a reception area with an exhibition in Plounéour.
Who said that a Cistercian abbey, founded in 1132, was boring? Not us! Not us! If Relec Abbey looks like a peaceful sleeping place, with its monumental fountain and its landscaping designed by monks, it nevertheless offers many activities. The theme of the vegetable garden, at the heart of monastic life, is regularly revisited. The last exhibition on brassicas (cabbages!) surprised many by the diversity of its representatives, from mustard to radish and cloves... A new reception area, with a permanent exhibition, is also opening its doors in 2020. We will discover the history of the site and its evolution over the centuries. Not to be missed: a visit to the gardens, where the pond that characterizes the site is worth a look.
