The English garden of the Château de Ainay-le-Vieil comprises a rose garden and five gardens, including an orchard and a meditation garden.
The garden of the Forteresse-le-Vieux fortress abounds with wonderful treasures. Five theme gardens (the flower garden, the sculpted orchard, the meditation garden, the simple cloister and the white garden at the embroidery grounds) were created inside the walls of old chartreuse dating back to the th century. Forgotten know-how such as the art of size or weaving are used in particular. In the poets'garden surrounded by roses and boxes, these are poems, real hymns to nature and love, great French poets who have been scattered. Finally in the rose rose, rare and ancient species are cultivated: from the rosa gallica to roses of Provins by passing through Colbert rose and the varieties of Cap Napoleon. In total, more than 180 species are to be discovered.
