WELL POND
The Well Pond of 180 hectares was built around 1860-1870 under Napoleon III from parts of water to regularize the level of the waters of the Sauldre Canal. With a dual vocation, ecological and tourist, the Well Pond is the largest pond of Sologne extending on the three Argent-sur-Sauldre communes, Clémont and Cerdon. Classified since 1965, it has several reserves: hunting, wild fauna, fishing and ornithological. The diversity of the media offers many habitats that can accommodate outstanding animal species, including the tuberculated swan, turdoid measles and winter sarcelle… Thanks to its wooded site, it is also a breathtaking base for recreation with sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, volleyball, pedal boats, poneys and hiking trails. It is also possible to picnic on site and swimming is officially opened from July 1 to August 30 for the greatest pleasure of the riparian as well as holidaymakers.
