THE CONVENT OF THE BLACK AUGUSTINIANS
Immerse yourself in the history of the Augustins Noirs convent, part Berrichon heritage site, part cultural events venue
Close to the hospice, this convent, founded in 1616 for the Augustins Noirs, retains a stone and brick cloister and stair turret, typical of Berrichonne architecture. The chapel to the north has been destroyed. A detour is in order to appreciate this construction, which echoes the visual unity of the Sologne landscape. Sold in 1792, it was bought by the town in 1818. Its gardens, laid out in 1861, now host a variety of events organized by associations under the aegis of the town council.
