Inaugurated in 1860, the present Jacques Cœur Theatre, an institution of an art that the Berruyers wore in their genes, is inscribed on the list of historical monuments of Bourges. This authentic Italian theatre has been restored (armchairs, gilded of balconies…) in 2005. With incomparable acoustic comfort, Jacques Cœur Theatre is very popular by the associations and organizers of performances: music, dance, theatre, lectures, projections and radio broadcasts. With a capacity of 350 places (and 3 places for people with reduced mobility), this warm and charming place offers a wide range of performances and extremely varied programming for newcomers, without the need for discounts. All those who have never seen a room will have a great opportunity here to rub themselves into these wonders of the repertoire. All year round, the main classics of Molière's comedy, contemporary authors… All bookings are made at the Bourges Culture House. If not, there are still a few places and you only have to come to the opening of the counters. During a Summer Festival in Bourges, from June to September, Jacques Cœur Theatre is, in the event of rain, the retreat of the scheduled outdoor shows. It is also one of the venues of the Bourges Spring.
