CONSERVATOIRE DE MUSIQUE, DE DANSE ET DE THÉÂTRE
Founded in 1921, the École Nationale de Musique et de Danse became the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Départemental in 2007. With over a thousand students, a teaching staff of 58 and more than 40 disciplines, the Conservatoire offers top-quality teaching. In this 7,000m2 wood and glass building, students can rehearse and play without the instruments mixing. The Bourges Conservatory's vocation is to train quality amateurs and to prepare students wishing to develop a professional career in music or dance for access to high-level competitions. Primarily aimed at children, it also offers courses for adults wishing to start or resume an artistic activity. The Bourges Conservatory of Music and Dance has two special features: a traditional music section and an Arabo-Andalusian music class, the only one of its kind in France. Last but not least, the Conservatoire regularly stages shows such as the 19/20, concerts given by top students, sometimes accompanied by their teachers.
