HÔTEL-DIEU
Built in the sixteenth century, the building of the Hotel-Dieu combines Gothic architecture with a style close to the Renaissance (monumental door on the street and the Renaissance door on the courtyard). This Gothic ensemble is completed in the seventeenth century by two other buildings. The new building is entrusted to the young local architect Jean Lejudge, who has already realized part of the expansion of the Hotel des Echevins. The architectural features of the time are: scrolls, alternating frontions, chambranles, capitals. The Hotel-Dieu has been classified in Historic Monuments since 1946. It closed its doors in 1994 at the end of the care activities practiced there and was bought back by the City in 1996. Today it houses the house of associations, a university residence and 64 houses. The north façade of the kitchens and the façade of the Lejudge wing of the chapel have just been restored. The Hotel Dieu seduced by its net style and its very clear stone. The parking lot of the same name is right next door. It is open during heritage days. Some guided tours are organized.
