BERRY MUSEUM
Museum housing archaeological, protohistoric, Egyptian, and Gallo-Roman collections through exhibitions.
Built around 1515, the Hôtel Cujas, a listed historic monument, has been home to the Musée du Berry since 1892. Here you'll discover important archaeological, Egyptian and especially Gallo-Roman collections, as well as a lapidary room containing over 250 steles. The Sainte-Chapelle in Bourges, destroyed in the 17th century, is evoked through statues of prophets and ten marble and alabaster mourners from the tomb of Duke Jean de Berry. An exhibition, "Œuvres dévoilées", features restored paintings by Jean Boucher, Fragonard and Nicolas Tournier.
