LE JARDIN DE LAZENAY
Set in former quarries, this natural garden combines relics and spontaneous vegetation along its varied paths
This one-hectare natural garden, laid out in the former quarries of Lazenay, where Bourges limestone was once extracted, was designed in the 90s by Gilles Clément, creator of the "Jardin en mouvement". The caves, remnants of the quarries, are showcased, while spontaneous vegetation flourishes along the paths, dry lawns, clearings and undergrowth dominated by the Prunus Mahaleb, or Saint Lucia cherry. A place of surprising landscapes, where nature and relics blend harmoniously.
