MARSHLANDS
A 135-hectare marsh offering an annual discovery of local flora and fauna, as well as boat trips.
The picturesque marshes of Bourges extend over 135 hectares in a grid of canals, gardens and greenery, just a stone's throw from the town center. In the 17th century, the Jesuits transformed part of the marshes into cultivable plots, creating a vegetable and flower Eden. The city's green lungs, the marshes are an ideal place to stroll away from the noise. Today, 1,500 gardeners cultivate their gardens and fields. At the end of summer, the Fête des Marais invites you to discover the local flora and fauna, with boat rides!
