This superb construction of a mixture of novel and Gothic has been recorded in the additional inventory of Historical Monuments since 1926. Built on the location of a Gallo-Roman villa, as evidenced by the sarcophagi found there, the priory was attached to the th century at Plaimpied Abbey. The choir is being rebuilt following the Benedictine plan: a apse, surrounded by two absidioles, forms a cross with the transept. The order and the richness of the bedside, the work of the capitals and the modillons, make it a monument of great beauty. Sold as a national property belonging to the clergy in 1799, this building will be transformed into stables and greniers. Acquired by the municipality of Bruère-Allichamps in late 1985, it is protected and restored by the Association of Friends of the Prieuré Priory. Concerts, photo exhibitions or demonstrations of art crafts (calligraphy, stained glass, stone, wood) are regularly proposed.
