The chapel is located in the old Charenton and occupies the narthex of the ancient abbey Notre-Dame de Bellavaux, a women's Benedictine abbey completely dismantled between 1791 and 1817. There is still a magnificent white marble sarcophagus awarded to Saint Chalan, exhibited at the Musée du Berry in Bourges. A few years ago, only a few nuns were left to the sisters of the sisters of charity of Bourges. The convent died with the departure of the nuns, and was redeemed by an individual in 2004. However, the chapel remains open to pilgrims.
