VASILL IVANOFF MUSEUM
Of Bulgarian origin Vasill Ivanoff (1897-1973), after arriving in Paris in 1922 and exercising his talents as a decorator, distinguished himself as a colorist, and then photographer on the advice of his brother-in-law who was the famous portrait artist Philippe Halsmann, discovered the land and the art of fire thanks to a book by English ceramist William Lee, found among the booklets. Going on his tracks he finally moved to La Borne in 1946 and then explores with vigor and sensuality all the mysteries of ceramics, nourishing her art of the twentieth century, contributing greatly to his renewal. The vitality of the association Vassil Ivanoff led to the creation in 1988 of this museum exclusively devoted to the artist. The work of ceramist - his surprising sandstone sculptures and pottery with inimitable red enamels (beef blood) - is presented at the scene of his work. These are 550 works of beauty that await you.
