PARK AND GARDENS OF THE PESSELIÈRES CASTLE
Romantic park featuring a collection of remarkable trees, a bower labyrinth, gardens, kitchen garden and orchard...
This 12th century castle was still owned by his descendants until 1994. Residence of the Marshals of the county of Sancerre from the 14th to the 18th century, it has been classified as a Historic Monument since 2009, as well as its gardens. Today, still inhabited, it is maintained with the most attentive care. Even if only the exteriors can be visited (the main courtyard, the moat), the romantic park crossed by a charming river that rises from its source, offers a collection of remarkable trees, a charming labyrinth, a vegetable garden and a flowered orchard as well as its gardens. The three-hundred-year-old boxwood alley testifies to the existence of a regular "French-style" park created under the reign of Louis XIV. The walk seems like an endless journey, letting the mind wander among this little gem where you get caught tasting a world from another time. It should be noted that absolutely no pesticides are used in the garden and that compost is made on site. In May, July and September, "Crimes in the garden" activities are organized in partnership with the Jacques Cœur road as well as concerts during the summer period. The iris festival in partnership with Richard Cayeux at the end of May is followed by the "Rendez-vous au Jardin". Finally, during heritage days, everything is open. It is the great success of the new owners to have been able to develop their lives there while sharing this rare setting with visitors. A wonder to protect!

Une grande leçon de jardin et d'histoire. Et en plus, c'est profondément beau !
