The chateau of Lignières, property of Prince Sixte Henri of Bourbon-Parme does not visit. You can admire its architecture through the grid. From 1654, it was built on the foundations of a feudal castle, shot in 1653, for Jérôme de Nouveau, great master of posts and relays of France and secretary of Louis XIV. The body of accommodation was built from 1654 to 1656. The gallery was then built and then in 1660 that of the two pavilions that enclosed the entrance terrace on the courtyard. The moss was built instead of the ditches by Larivière. The gardens were then realized by the Parisian master gardener Gabriel Thévenon. The canals are from Jérôme Drouard, son of Larivière and master fountain of Paris. The work was led by Robert Geoffroy, architect and then by contractor René Boissonnet. In 1683 the castle became the property of Colbert, then passed in 1786 to the Bourbons to which it still belongs today. The gardens transformed into English park in 1827 are remarkable. There are about forty rare species there and a tree of almost 300 years old majestically prevails there. A period orangery has been preserved and the ancient chapel of the twelfth century has superb statues and a carved wooden chair. The castle has been classified in Historical Monuments since 1935.
