FÊTE DE LA ROSIÈRE
Every year, the first Sunday in June, Mehun celebrates his Rosière: a deserving young girl elected by the committee. On this occasion, the city animates many festivities and animations (pyrotechnic show…). This tradition is old: it dates back to 1882. At that time, a resident of Mehun who had no family left his fortune to the city, dependant on her to give her to a girl to marry the commune. Today things have evolved somewhat, but the girl named Rosière receives a sum of money which allows him, for example, to pass his driving license. The party consists of a parade of musical groups and it grows with the coronation of the Rosière at 5 p. m.
