The 2.2-km-long Chemin de l'Ocre in Saint-Georges-sur-la-Prée offers a walk with a view of the Château de Rozay.
Follow the 2.2 km "ochre trail" around the village, passing through the old ochre sites of "Les Hautes Ocreries" and "Les Basses Ocreries". Discover a reconstructed well, a workers' lodge, and touch the orange-yellow earth where ochre outcrops. Take a detour to admire the Château de Rozay and its moat (not open to visitors), or head downstream to the Cher, once the route by which ochre was shipped to Holland. This route reveals the forgotten history of a local craft. It also offers unique panoramas for hikers.
