Patron saint of the Sologne region, which loves to honor its "good saints", but little is known about her, except that her fountain was said to cure pain. Women used to flock to it to drink the water and become fertile. Various legends abound, and the date of her feast day varies: the1st, the 3rd or the 22nd, but always in October, at the beginning of autumn, which is golden in Sologne. Sainte Montaine remains a benevolent guardian of the traditions and hopes of the Sologne people. The fountain still whispers legends at every festival and pilgrimage.
