Château de Sancerre, located in Sancerre, is one of the strongest medieval castles ever built. Its 55-hectare vineyard is planted with vines of an average age of 25 years, producing lively, crisp Sauvignon Blanc wines with good structure and aromas of ripe redcurrants and smoky, stony notes. Château de Sancerre wines are made, matured and bottled on site. The estate has obtained level 3 High Environmental Value certification, guaranteeing the preservation of local biodiversity as well as environmentally-friendly fertilization, irrigation and phytosanitary practices.
It is possible to visit the estate and follow the entire wine-making process, from the presses to the end of vinification, via the various cellars dating from different eras. The tour concludes with a tasting of some of the cuvées, accompanied by local produce.
