The Pad Thai is succulent and known to be one of the best in Lamai. Let yourself be tempted by the yellow crab curry, it is excellent. The only downside is that the portions are a little small for heavy eaters. The place, open on the street, is close to several shops. The service is courteous and fast. A good choice for lunch.

This small night market is pleasant, well laid out and popular. There are few stalls, but diversity is the order of the day and it is easy to find what you want. Good pizzas at low prices, grilled meat, fish and seafood, Thai food, sushi, Middle Eastern food, rotis, sticky rice with mango... One can easily sit down because the turnover is rather fast. You can order beers, cocktails and a bar with live music. Some clothes and trinkets stands too...

Assortment of dishes, from chicken tikka to kofta lamb and excellent vegetarian specialities, all to be served with delicious naans. The setting is fairly basic, but the service is prompt and smiling. The company has 2 street locations. It also offers Indian cooking classes, where you can choose to learn how to concoct 2 vegetarian and 2 non-vegetarian menus.

Close to the lake, just behind the Central Samui, this small local color market has become an alternative to the Chaweng Night Market which is not as active as before. At the end of the afternoon, there are different food stalls serving Thai snacks, grilled food, fish and seafood, fruit juice stalls and some trinkets. It is quite good and it allows to eat at a lower price. Be careful about the freshness of some products in some stands, especially those offering sushi.

A small local restaurant located on the road between Choeng Mon Beach and Wat Plai Laem. Only 6 tables, 4 of them in bamboo booths. Mainly frequented by local customers, this small restaurant offers classic Thai cuisine at very reasonable prices. On the menu, pad ka prao, pad thai, soups, fried rice, omelets, curries... Everything is very good! You can accompany your meal with a cold beer. Fast and very friendly service.

Chef Gao worked in some of the finest restaurants on the Côte d'Azur before settling in Bophut with his wife. Two types of cuisine are offered: Thai and French, Mediterranean and Provençal. Half-cooked tuna with exotic sauces, fish of the day, porcini ravioli, 7-hour-cooked lamb mice, also very good meat from Australia. Dessert was also top-notch, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream surrounded by a warm doughnut covered in strawberry coulis. A real treat!

El Gaucho moved from Chaweng to Bophut in 2019: same team, same concept! On the menu: a wide choice of beef steaks, fish grills, sophisticated starters, and a magnificent wine list featuring delicious Argentine wines.
