From Maui to Lanai
Steps: Hulopoe Beach
The day before, sleep in a hotel in Lahaina so as to be able to take one of the first ferries of the company "Expeditions Ferry", which leave for Lanai from 6.45 am in the morning (duration of the crossing: 45 minutes. Book in advance). Early morning arrival at Manele Harbor in Lanai. Take the shuttle and go to Lanai City. Get back your rental vehicle: choose a 4x4 vehicle because it is the only way to access the north and south of the island. Take a hotel in Lanai City itself. The morning in Lanai City: visit of the Hulopoe Beach, just to cool off. In the evening: Take a drink at the Four Seasons Lodge Resort at Koele Bar, while attending their hula show (free). Dine in town before 9 pm. because all is closed after. Night on site.

Northern island by 4x4 vehicle
Steps: Polihua Beach
A day dedicated to the north of the island (an all-terrain vehicle is compulsory). In the morning: Visit the Kanepuu Preserve, which are two natural, beautiful and preserved sites. Provide a picnic (no supermarket or restaurant in the corner). In the afternoon: Go swimming and sunbathing at Shipwreck Beach. In the evening: return to Lanai City. Dinner and night on site.

Archaeology and culture in Kaunolu
Steps: Naha
Spending the morning in the island (4X4 compulsory). Explore the old village of Kaunolu and then observe the mysterious Lanai City and heading to Manele Harbor (port). The last boat for Maui being at 6 pm, you must be be at the port no later than 18 p. m. The registration takes 30 minutes before departure. Return to Maui: if you took the last boat, you will arrive in Lahaina. Due to late hour, it's better to have planned to sleep in Lahaina that evening, especially since the departures for Molokai take place very early in the morning of the port of Lahaina.

Departure from Lahaina Harbor on the Molokai Princess ferry at 7:15 a.m. (every day except Sunday). Check-in 30 minutes before departure at the latest. Travel time: 90 minutes. Eat a light breakfast due to the strong currents in the canal which can make you nauseous. Arrival at Kaunakai. Arrival at Kaunakakai port at 8:45 am. If you have reserved your rental car in advance (highly recommended), a shuttle from the rental company will take you directly from the port to the agency.
The morning in Kaunakakai. Put your bags down in town, at the Molokai Hotel (the only one on the island) or in a Bed & Breakfast. Book all the nights at the same place: the island is well served from Kaunakakai and we are already close to the port for the return ferry... Take the time to walk in the city center, stroll, store. Total immersion in the local culture.
The afternoon in the surroundings of Kaunakakai. Then go to " Purdy's Natural Macadamia Nut Farm ", a macadamia nut educational farm. Around 5pm, go back down to Kaunakakai and go to the Kapuaiwa Coconut Grove to take some unusual and beautiful pictures during the sunset (between 5 and 6pm). In the evening: dinner and then a drink at Kaunakakai (before 10 pm because after that everything is closed). Night on the spot.

On the road to Molokai
Steps: Maunaloa
In the morning in the vicinity of Kaunakakai (part 2). From Kaunakakai, drive north to the end of Highway 470. Just before the end, on the left, you will see the R.W. Meyer Sugar Mill and Museum and Molokai Museum, which is worth a visit. Then go for a walk in the Palaau forest (at the end of the 470); stop at the Kalaupapa Lookout (a panoramic viewpoint on the Kalaupapa Peninsula, with explanatory panels) and at the Kauleonanahoa (or Nanahoa Phallus), a huge phallic-shaped stone, surrounded by legends In the afternoon on the west side of the island, stop at the village of Mauna Loa to visit the amazing Big Wind Kite Factory, which is both a kite-making workshop and a souvenir store. Then go to Papohaku Beach, a large golden sand beach. In the evening: return to Kaunakakai. Try a new restaurant for dinner and then go back to the hotel to sleep
