Day 1: Arrival in the flower island

In the afternoon, a short visit to the Story Centre, which is an interesting and interactive modern museum, perfectly illustrates the history and development of Madeira Island and its culture. Day 4: Typical villages

Day 5: Porto Moniz and its natural pools

Day 6: An adventurous day
On the gold road, towards São Vicente (caves), Boa Ventura, Santana. Lunch in Santana or São Jorge; in the afternoon, walk in Queimadas to Caldeirão do Inferno (4 to 5 hours round trip) or to the Achada do Texeira plateau, or near Ilha. Sleep in Ilha or Santana
Day 7: Natural swimming pool and panoramic view of the island
The East and the Interior. Porto da Cruz (natural swimming pools) on the coast, then direction Ribeiro Frio and the viewpoint of Balcões; ascent to Pico do Arieiro; lunch (panoramic picnic); return to the Poiso junction, then road to Santo da Serra, and descent to Machico to spend the night there.
Day 8: Hiking in the Serra
Hiking on the Paúl da Serra (northern slope), the place is full of admirable paths; in every season its flowers, its perfumes, its colours. Hikes can be accompanied for those interested in the many endemic species on the island
Day 9: The southern slope of Paul da Serra
