PEACEFUL DAY TRIP ON LAKE VICTORIA
As you pedal leisurely through the beautiful Ugandan countryside, stopping for a typical Ugandan snack at one of the food stalls and chatting with the locals, you might forget that the hustle and bustle of Kampala is only 30 minutes away on the other side of Lake Victoria. This bike tour leaves the city behind and covers 20 kilometers of quiet island roads, offering a trip that really gets you off the beaten path. You'll pass through rural areas and see small farmers cultivating their land, pass through vast banana plantations, avoid free-roaming pigs and greet many enthusiastic children. The route also passes through small commercial centers and a pristine section of rainforest that is home to a family of monkeys.

PICK-UP
Our drivers will pick you up early in the morning and take you to Lake Mburo, one of Uganda's smallest national parks. During the 4-hour drive, you will slowly see the environment change from a busy urban area to a green and peaceful setting. On the way, you will cross the equator. You will have plenty of time to take pictures and have a coffee and a snack. You will reach your accommodation around lunchtime, which you can enjoy from a terrace with a beautiful view of the park. After lunch, we will take a 20-40 km walk around the edge of the park. Many chances to see wildlife such as zebras, Ugandan kobs, waterbucks or a warthog. The loop will end at the lodge where you will dine under the stars. Sleep with the sound of roaring hippos in the background.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
On the second day, we will start pedaling early enough to see as much wildlife as possible. Did you know that Lake Mburo is also home to a family of giraffes? A group of 16 species were released in 2016 to help return the park's wildlife to its original state. Perhaps you will catch a glimpse of one of these majestic animals. Today's hike will be 20-40 km and will be tailored to your experience and fitness level. We can enjoy our packed lunch during the hike or make sure we are back at camp by lunch time. You will have time to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature, before returning to Kampala. If you decide to stay an extra night, you will have the opportunity to do other activities!
Last day
In the morning you will have breakfast at the camp and after that it's time for another exciting ride! If you didn't see the animal you were looking for yesterday, today you have another chance to find it! After lunch at the camp, it's time to head back to Kampala.
