The time required to search for the gorillas is not known, but it should be between 30 minutes and 8 hours, depending on the movements of the gorilla family you are looking for. During your hike, you may encounter other wildlife such as different bird species, other primates like black and white colobus monkeys and other mammals. Once you've met the mountain gorillas, you'll have a maximum of one hour to observe them, follow their movements, take souvenir photos and learn more about their behavior. Steps: Mgahinga National Park

After your early breakfast, you'll head to park headquarters for a briefing on the do's and don'tsfor a briefing on the do's and don'ts of tracking golden monkeys. Golden monkeys are not very popular primates, but they are extremely unique and certainly rare to encounter. Golden monkey tracking sessions normally last 4 hours and once you've met them, you'll spend an hour observing them and monitoring their actions. You'll then return to your lodge for lunch, relaxation and an evening out on the Batwa trail. The Batwa, known as Twa in Rwanda, are one of the indigenous groups of the Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable gorilla national parks. They originally lived in the ancient forests of Bwindi and Mgahinga before they were classified as a national park. The Batwa consider themselves the "guardians of the forest". This cultural trail has been designed for visitors who wish to meet the real Bushmen of Africa and understand their way of life in the jungle, where they survive solely on the forest, both economically and socially, and where they live without modern technology.

The ascent begins by crossing a flat area and several swamps, then you start to climb towards areas of thick vegetation for the first 2390 to 2800 meters. The area is a bamboo forest, the preferred habitat of golden monkeys, and you may encounter mountain gorillas or other mammals. The most unique experience of climbing Mont to its summit is to have the chance to be in three countries (Uganda, Rwanda and Congo) at the same time and to have the best views of each country, such as the magnificent Lake Kivu in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo and Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, as well as the Rwenzori mountain ranges and many other features such as the Virunga region. After enjoying all these beautiful panoramas, you'll descend and return to your lodge to collect your luggage and head to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and overnight.
