Day 1: Arrival at Kigali international airport

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, our dedicated Hermosa Life Tours and Travel team will be at Kigali International Airport for customs-cleared assistance. Transfer to Kigali hotel. Enjoy hotel amenities, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and embark on a transfer to Akagera National Park, home to Big 5-Game Drive (lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and Cape buffalo). On the way, enjoy Rwanda's landscapes and hills, en route, game drives and views as you drive to the lodge, check-in and lunch at the lodge. Expect to see animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, arrive at the lodge, have your meals and relax. Afternoon at leisure and enjoy the lodge's amenities. In the evening, embark on the night safari where you are rewarded by several wild animals in a quiet nature. Tonight you'll have the chance to observe nocturnal wildlife that is difficult to spot during the day. Retire to the lodge

Day 3: Game Drives and boat cruise, then transfer back to Kigali

Steps: Parc National De L'Akagera

Akagera is also known as one of the most picturesque savannahs in East Africa. After breakfast, prepare your packed lunches. You'll visit the Giraffe region to the south and the Lakes Route up to Birengero. Akagera National Park is home to elephant, lion, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, antelope and much more. Stop for a packed lunch at the picnic area. Continue with a boat cruise where you'll be rewarded with several hippos and bird species on Lake Ihema.

Continue with the return to Kigali, enjoying superb photos of the sunsets and landscapes of the region. Arrive at your hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.


Day 4: City tour of Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Steps: Parc National Des Volcans

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a city tour of Kigali; visit the Kigali genocide memorial site, the local markets of Kimironko, visit Nyamirambo, discover the daily activities of the local Rwandan population with a smile on your face, drive to a good restaurant of your choice in the city of Kigali for lunch, then continue to Musanze, home of mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and hiking. On the way, you'll have time to discover and admire the Rwandan landscape. Check-in at the lodge. Relax and take advantage of the lodge's facilities, evening at leisure. Dinner later and overnight.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking and cultural experience at Gorilla Gurdians Village.

Steps: Parc National Des Volcans

After breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters to meet your guides for your trek to the golden monkeys, let them play and do their daily activities, then after you've finished your experiences. Return to your hotel for lunch and an afternoon cultural experience at the Gorilla Guardians' ancient Iby'iwacu cultural village center, then dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6: Bisoke hike and transfer to Lake Kivu.

Steps: Gisenyi Rubavu

On this day, after breakfast, you'll head to the RDB headquarters for a briefing with a cup of coffee or tea, then join a group of tourists heading for the hike to the top of the volcano where there's a crater lake. It takes 4 hours up and 2 hours down. Return to the hotel for lunch, check-out and transfer to Lake Kivu. Arrive at the hotel and relax by the beach all afternoon.

Day 7: Boat cruise on Lake Kivu, transfer back to Kigali and departure

Steps: Kigali

Wake up to breakfast and enjoy the view over the lake. Then embark on a boat cruise on Lake Kivu to discover its various beautiful islands. Enjoy a fantastic view of the country. During the boat cruise, you can visit the local population of fruit bats, a variety of bird species including pelicans, crowned cranes and malachite kingfishers. Depending on how busy the day is, this boat cruise lasts an average of 2 hours. Return to the hotel for meals, check-out and transfer back to Kigali. Do some souvenir shopping and leave for an evening transfer.
