Detail of the stay : 2 NIGHTS OKAVANGO DELTA MOKOTO TRIP - 3 days

Day 1

Your safari guide will collect you from Maun International Airport and escort you to an open Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4 safari vehicle for a one-hour drive to the mokoro station, where the concession guides will be waiting to transport you to a small paradise in the wilderness. The mokoro is a type of pirogue commonly used to navigate the shallow waters of the Okavango Delta. In the past, these canoes were made by felling a tree, digging it out and shaping it into a boat. Today, these boats are made from molded fiberglass. Each mokoro carries a maximum of three people: two guests and a poler/guide who steers the mokoro with a pole, avoiding papyrus and reeds, using a "nkashi". When you arrive at your campsite, the camp crew will set up camp for the night, with tent domes equipped with mattresses, bed linen and one pillow per person. Bucket showers and dry toilets are available nearby, and washbasins are provided outside each tent. Animals can be easily observed. After exploring the diversity of life around us on foot, return to camp for a late afternoon drink, followed by dinner, while reflecting on the day's adventures.

Day 2

You'll start early with a light breakfast. You'll continue exploring the delta's floodplains and palm-fringed islands on foot, while learning about the delta's ecology and how it supports a wealth of wildlife. You'll read the tracks of delta animals, breathe in the scent of crushed wild grasses and let your senses awaken before returning to camp for a hearty lunch.

Enjoy some rest and relaxation to compensate for the early start to the day before setting off again for another bush walk and a chance to learn how to steer a mokoro.

Day 3

After a light breakfast, you'll have the chance to stretch your legs on another bush walk before enjoying a hot breakfast. Then it's time to pack up, board your mokoro and head for the mokoro station. Your transfer vehicle will be waiting to take you to Maun, so you can catch your flight to your next destination.
