CHATEAU LA JAUBERTIE
The historic home of Gabrielle d'Estrées, a Bergerac treasure, produces quality wines to be enjoyed on site.
The house is steeped in history: it was given to Gabrielle d'Estrées by Henri IV, then belonged to one of Marie-Antoinette's doctors, and finally fell in love with it at first sight with an Englishman, Henry Ryman. The property has been listed as a Monument Historique since 2005. It's a sure bet in the Bergerac region, and you'll often find these wines on the menus of fine Dordogne restaurants. On-site sales and tastings of Bergerac red, dry white, rosé and Monbazillac. Special mention for the Mirabelle cuvée (80% Sauvignon blanc, 20% Sémillon).
