Located in Douzillac, Dordogne, Poterie Florence de Sacy is a veritable treasure trove of craftsmanship. Ceramicists Florence de Sacy and Alain Devise create porcelain and stoneware pottery, including vases, plates, teapots, cups, bowls, gratin dishes, boxes and pie dishes. Each piece is unique and made entirely by hand, from throwing to decorating and firing. The ceramists are concerned about the environment and favor local materials, such as French clays, to limit the environmental impact of transport. They also use wood from the Périgord region for their wood-fired kilns, which have become increasingly wood-efficient while retaining the lively, decorative character of this natural firing method. Poterie Florence de Sacy offers beautiful, well-made pottery, a far cry from mass-produced industrial tableware.
