Jumilhac-le-Grand is set in rolling greenery: from its cliff, the château overlooks the waters of the Isle on the historic Richard the Lionheart route, named after the illustrious king who, after laying siege to Jumilhac and Hautefort, died in 1199 besieging the château of Châlus-Chabrol. Returned in 1927 to the family who originally owned it, this listed château has had a tea room since 2021! The terraced gardens are also well worth a visit, and in summer, shows and evening events are held in the château or courtyard.

Opening time and information on CHATEAU DE JUMILHAC
Château open every day except Christmas and New Year's Day. June to September, daily from 10am to 7pm, with evening visits every Tuesday from 9:30pm to 11:30pm (plus Thursdays in July and August). From spring vacation to All Saints' Day, daily from 2pm to 6pm. Outside these periods, Saturday and Sunday, 2pm to 5pm, or by appointment. Gardens open from April to October. Adult admission: €10.50, concessions: €8.50, children aged 5-11: €5.50. Free for children under 5. Accessible roofs subject to availability: €7.50.
