CHATEAU DE MONBAZILLAC
Near Bergerac, in the middle of the vineyard of the same name, the castle of Monbazillac presents you its particularities of wine.
You are in the biggest Liquoreux vineyard in the world. The cooperative cellar of Monbazillac bought the castle of Monbazillac in 1960. Since then, enjoy the visit of this 16th century monument with unique roofs built between 1550 and 1582 on a hill overlooking Bergerac.
With a permanent exhibition on 300 m² presenting the vineyard in all its facets during interactive and highly technological visits to present the vineyard, the grape varieties, the importance of the noble rot, the stages in the vineyards and those in the cellars. The virtual reality of "mapping" presents the 4 seasons of the vineyard. Computer graphics, models, photos and sound documents will help you speak the language of wine. Further on, the cooperative is presented, the history of the acquisition of the castle when it was put up for sale in 1960. Depending on the theme chosen, you will be able to enjoy a personalized session at the Flavors Pavilion where, for example, three wines will be presented to you by a sommelier. All the senses will be stimulated. The children will actively participate in a playful course with riddles allowing them to elaborate their own grape juice. To congratulate them, a reward will be offered. Admire the view from the belvedere. La Petite Pause Gourmande will delight your taste buds. With a view on the castle, the visit will end at the store where the range of wines and local products will be presented. A wine tasting will allow you to discover the Euphonie range.
