LA MAISON DE LA DRONNE
A former flour mill dating back to the century, now a tourist information center offering a variety of activities and tours.
This old flour mill dating from the 12th century, better known as the Moulin du Pont, was converted into an electric factory in 1907. In this building with the typical architecture of the Dronne boat mills, you can discover the wheel, the turbine, which allowed the electrification of the surrounding communes and the different types of mills on the river. As well as models illustrating the mechanisms using hydraulic power. Today, the house of the Dronne is a tourist information point which proposes animations, photo and painting exhibitions. This house offers a green setting suitable for picnics and fishing. On the spot, you will be able to enjoy freely the river, one of the purest in Europe, by renting a boat, with oars or motor, for one or several hours. It is an enchantment to let yourself be rocked by the water, discovering the fauna and flora very specific to this wetland. Children will find it an incredible adventure to do as a family. In the evening, from 8 to 10 pm, guided tours are organised by professionals, by reservation only. The dates are available from the animation team of the Maison de la Dronne. In the immediate vicinity (5 km), you can completely change universe, by discovering a dry zone, called dry grassland (the equivalent of the Causses in the Lot). These south-facing slopes, although devoid of lush vegetation, will hold some beautiful surprises (wild orchids) if you have the courage to walk them.
