MAISONS DE LA DOUBLE

La Double has a traditional specific habitat: the doubleaude house is built of wood, earth and stone. The half-timbered and mud buildings are surrounded by an outer wooden gallery, the "balet" and topped with a covered gable roof in Roman tile. One or two rooms for the house, a barn and a baker's oven make up the main part of the farms. The harmonious simplicity of the architecture reflects the close relationship between man and his environment. You can see one made at the intersection of roads to the Station and the But. The access to this site is free throughout the year (picnic tables).
