Périgueux has been the region's commercial center since the Middle Ages. Even today, you'll find local produce from our farmers and breeders. Every season has its own harvest: asparagus, strawberries, ceps, winter and summer black truffles, chanterelles, saffron, honey, lamb, beef, pork, poultry (including the famous geese and ducks). You'll also find preserves, cured meats, cold meats, pastries, cheeses, yoghurts... Organic and sustainable products are also available. Local produce is back in force, and all the better for the taste!
