Saint-Astier's famous (but not only!) food market, every Thursday morning, in the town center and under the market hall.

It's not a market, it's a perpetual weekly event! People come from far and wide to stock up on fresh, local, well-bred produce. They also come to chat, meet friends and have a coffee, every Thursday morning all over the city center. You'll find everything: fruit and vegetables, goat's cheese, meat from local farms, fish, flowers and even clothes and haberdashery! The fat market is held on Thursday mornings under the covered market hall from October to April, and the truffle market from December to February.

Grand marché très animé et réputé. Prévoir la matinée et prendre le temps de papoter avec les petits producteurs très sympathiques et d'acheter de très bons produits locaux. Prenez-aussi le temps de visiter ce petit village de caractère.
Very pleasant market and it is good to observe the crowd that flock here from the terrace of one of the 2 cafés (facing the tobacconist) on condition that finding a small table because they are stormed...

You can find all of this huge market... For my part jaime choose all small producers who sell their vegetable garden, including the small granny under the porch with some eggs and sometimes some seasonal vegetables. I escape the large has because the goods are similar to that of the shops...).

Market unmissable for the buildings!
Exit requested Thursday morning: it is necessary to buy figs stuffed with foie gras and ducks stuffed with foie gras (near the porch), strawberries and melons. Pineau after it (near the fishmonger), fluted near the house of the press, cheese and cake nuts of monks of Echourgnac (passage between the church and the house of the press).

You need also wonders or auricles (towards the church), roast quail next to the Tourist Office... and certainly other things.

Children love to observe and touch babies ducks and hens facing the post - office, there are also rabbits, guinea fowls...

In short, arrive early to park and large baskets.
